Signed up with this vets a year ago and joined the Pet Plan. Booked nail clip for cats well in advance. I was told when booking that no nurses were available so I was booked in with a vet, Dawn. On the day of my appointment they texted me to say that Dawn was not available as she wasn't coming in that day so I should rebook! I explained that I needed a nail clip as the plan was expiring soon and as nail clips were included in the plan, I had therefore booked well in advance to avoid having to pay extra costs. Dawn then suddenly became available!? At my appointment Dawn said she was very busy training, felt I should apologize for wasting her precious time! She rushed the nail clip and hurt my cat by putting too much pressure on the paws leading to my cat scratching her! In 3 years of nail clips, mostly with another practice, my cats have never so much as flinched. This vets practice say they are a training facility so most of the nurses are students, hence the shortfall in student nurses during August to September. So if you see a nurse on Pet Plan don't expect them to be fully qualified and yes they have to start somewhere but as a paying customer I would prefer to have a choice about who I see and most importantly I would expect a student nurse to have a supervisor with them. Dawn is heavy handed and has no time for niceties, especially when she is resentfully dragged in to do a nurses job due to lack of staff! It makes me wonder how they handle pets when your not there!? Lost confidence in them! UPDATE! Dawn wrote to me privately after I left the above review basically and very politely telling me to bog off! Signed by 'Dawn the Director'. Ego over care!? Totally! I called in today, Saturday 14.3.26 to buy some non-prescription food as I had ran out and couldn't get it online, only to be informed by the very nice receptionist that there was a note on file saying 'Do not serve H. Nur' account removed! Awkward! Dawn and Vet Emma Cousins were also on reception having a right old laugh amongst themselves. Tbh I didn't recognise Dawn the Director as it was the first time in over a year of being with them in the past that I had ever seen her Crack a smile! So, long story short, they had the non-prescription food on the shelf that I called in to buy and needed, but could not sell it to me in accordance with Dawns instructions. Pets at Home don't stock it! Moral of the story ; don't leave an honest and perhaps what could be considered a negative review based on your experience here if you want to stay with this practice as if you dare to do so then you will be promply removed as a client from their system. Boohoo, better and more caring vets nearby at hillsborough. And for those of you concerned about my pets, they are fine, their regular food comes on Tuesday so they just have to eat crap till then and perhaps, most likley, get a tummy ache to which Dawn the Director and Head Vet at Abbeymore Vets doesn't give a damm! Not very caring really! ❤️🔥2

Abbeymore vets and staff are excellent in their roles with a caring and professional approach, my dog has always been treated with the greatest of care, i can't recommend them enough.

I use Abbeymoor vets Halifax Road Sheffield for my dogs. Recently I took Betty my little terrier for a Lap Spay procedure. This was explained to me thoroughly beforehand. The procedure done, was by keyhole, therefore much less invasive - just some tiny incisions on her tummy. She wore a little surgical suit for a few days afterwards, but was back to her normal, very active self within a couple of days! I was very impressed, it was all so stress free and Betty never showed any pain or discomfort along with a super fast recovery. I would recommend Abbeymoor and the procedure 100%.

Very friendly and welcoming, we took our 4 month Rotti for a check up, he did appear to enjoy the experience of going to the vets. Our Rotti, Jett is now 2.5 years old and has just been back to the vets, he enjoys going, although does not like the injections, but the staff are very friendly and patient with him.
