Companion Care (Sheffield Drakehouse) Ltd T/A Vets4Pets – Vets in Sheffield
Clinic Overview
Companion Care (Sheffield Drakehouse) Ltd trades as Vets4Pets, part of the Vets4Pets group. The practice presents itself as a modern, well-equipped clinic with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab testing, and separate dog and cat warding, set up for both routine care and in-house medical and surgical work. Recent feedback is mostly positive, with owners often highlighting gentle handling of nervous pets, caring staff, and good surgery outcomes, while the main criticism remains communication around costs.
Services
- •Routine and preventive care: nurse clinics, weight clinics, nutritional advice, microchipping, prescriptions and medication. Reviews also mention routine consultations, vaccination-related visits, puppy care, and ongoing rabbit check-ups including dental checks.
- •Surgery and procedures: anaesthesia, operating theatre, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics including cruciate surgery and fracture repair, and dentistry. Owners describe successful major surgeries for an older dog and treatment after a dog had eaten something it should not have.
- •Diagnostics and monitoring: digital X-ray, ultrasound, echocardiography, blood pressure monitoring, Tonopen eye pressure testing, and in-house laboratory work including biochemistry, haematology and electrolytes. Reviews also mention a thorough work-up for alopecia, with a diagnosis, diet plan and supplements.
- •Hospital and inpatient facilities: hospital ward, isolation unit, and separate dog and cat wards and isolation units.
- •Access and support: the practice says a support line is available when it is closed, and out-of-hours care is provided by another Vets4Pets practice. One owner also found the WhatsApp service helpful when same-day appointments were difficult to get.
- •Training facility: the practice is listed as a veterinary nurse training facility.
Pricing
A very limited amount of published pricing suggests the clinic may sit below average, but this is based on very few comparable services. Review feedback on costs is mixed, with one owner describing a cat de-mat quoted at £35 that became a £61 bill after a nail clip was added and the de-mat price changed, which they felt was not clearly explained.
